The goal for this project was to make an animal with human characteristics for the San Diego Banner.

Objective

Having a baby hippo matching clothes with a child added humor and a user-friendly look for a web banner.

Who Are the Users

The users are interested campers for the San Diego Zoo 2020 kids pre-k summer camp.

Process

The challenge for this project was having the clothes look realistic for the hippo to wear.

Firstly I found the face of the San Diego Zoo and used that image of the baby hippo with the target audience; a pre-k student.

Secondly I photo manipulated the clothes of the hippo and typography with the patterns and textures of the background photo.

Lastly I used a specific font that matched the zoo’s theme and made a format for information included in the web banner.

For the Future

The next step is to expand the range of creativity with bold colors, typography, and UX/UI design. UX/UI is important for usability and value to creative design.

Task

Our main goal was to create a realistic banner with animals from the zoo for the summer of 2020.
